36 x 60 inches, black masking tape and latex paint on wood panel.
This piece is inspired by Cosimo Fancelli's 17th Century sculpture "Angel with the Sudarium" which is one of the angels that adorns the Ponte Sant Angelo in Rome. The work also bares the painted bunting in reference to my earlier work "A Bird in the Hand". My intent for this work was to really capture the essence of classical sculpture. Hopefully this piece has achieved that!
